Director, Global Threat Intelligence - Americas Lead at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)
Allison Wikoff is a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) leading the Americas region of the firm’s Global Threat Intelligence practice where she supports the strategic operations and business development of the team. She has over 20 years of experience working as a network defender, incident responder, intelligence analyst and threat researcher in organizations including the US Federal Reserve System and prior to joining PwC, IBM. The focus of the latter half of Allison's career has been researching Iran-based threats. She holds numerous industry certifications and an advanced degree from Columbia University where she has guest lectured for several information security-focused graduate courses.
Recent cyber activity from Iran-based actors suggests the exploration of new technology, which may have implications for various activity including phishing, disinformation, and sabotage. Despite advancements, the overall themes, targets, and methods used has shown little variation when compared to legacy operations from other Iran-based threat actors. By examining the past decade of similar operations with a threat actor PwC calls Yellow Eris (aka UNC1549, Yellow Dev 13), this talk sheds light on the evolution, or lack thereof, of Iran-based activity.
