Arun Sukumar on the Board of Digital Public Goods Alliance
Recently, our post-doctoral research fellow Arun Sukumar joined the Board of the Digital Public Goods Alliance as an honorary member.
The DPGA is a multi-stakeholder initiative aimed at the development and adoption of digital public goods in low- and middle-income countries with a view especially to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Arun was nominated to the DPGA Board by the Bengaluru-based technical standards organisation, iSPIRT, which has been closely involved in developing digital public goods for India's financial, health, and transportation sectors. iSPIRT is a founding member of the Alliance along with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Government of Sierra Leone, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad, UNDP, and UNICEF. Arun joined the Alliance Board late last year and will serve in this capacity until the end of 2023.
